The Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (CSU-AAUP) is hiring a full-time internal Organizer to join an ongoing campaign to build worker power to protect public higher education in Connecticut.

As the union representing some 3,000 members at the four regional Connecticut state universities, CSU-AAUP works to support academic freedom, quality public higher education, and faculty working conditions that enhance student learning.

The Organizer will focus on membership growth and engagement and motivate members to build their union. They will assist the union leadership in designing and executing an organizing plan, and be responsible for building relationships with members, recruiting new members, identifying new leaders, sustaining the motivation of members and activists, and tracking data about members. They also will act as a liaison with other unions and community groups in the state working on organizing campaigns.
