The CSU-AAUP Executive Council believes that face masks remain an essential part of curbing the spread of COVID-19 on campuses and in our communities. As such, the Council voted at its regular February meeting to pass a resolution calling on the CSCU administration to continue requiring everyone to wear masks in campus buildings through the end of the spring semester, at the very least. Even though the new COVID variant is slowing down, we are still seeing relatively high case rates. We are hopeful that CSCU Pres. Cheng and other administrators will respect shared governance and involve faculty in this conversation, unlike at the start of the semester.
