Inequality has come to define the state of Connecticut. In 2015, we became the state with one of the largest income gaps between the top 1 percent and the bottom 99 percent. Connecticut also has the highest achievement gap in the nation.
Join CSU-AAUP Feb. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for our Summit on Inequality and the Crisis of Public Higher Education. We will examine inequality in our state and look at how higher education can pave the way to better economic and social equality. We also will discuss how decreased funding for public higher education puts all that at risk.
The summit will be held at CCSU’s Memorial Hall in the Constitution Room. The keynote address will be at 12:15 p.m. by Bill Fletcher, Jr. of the TransAfrica Forum and the Institute for Policy Studies. Come for an hour or stay all day. Attendance is free and open to the public.
Come listen to the issues and be part of the solution!
