With the middle class shrinking, wages stagnating, voting rights under attack, and the rights of people to join in collective bargaining at risk, the need to unite together in a common struggle is paramount.
On Saturday, Jan. 16, the weekend of Martin Luther King Day, please join CSU-AAUP and fellow state employees, as well as community and civil rights organizations in a show of unity and commitment to continuing King’s fight to end racial and economic inequality.
The event, “A Celebration of Unity, Equality & Democracy,” will bring together stakeholders to work on creating a common agenda for creating lasting positive change.
Endorsing organizations include civil rights organizations such as the Hartford and Danbury NAACP and Open Communities Alliance; labor organizations such as the Connecticut AFL-CIO and the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition; and community groups such as the Connecticut Center for a New Economy and Common Cause.
