Work Life Family Strategy Session @ CCSU Student Center, 1849 room
Nov 30 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Last month’s Work Life Family Conference was an invigorating experience and provided a great start to some important conversations. It is wonderful to have so many individuals ready and willing to advance the work, life, and family initiatives that were raised. Favicon for CSU-AAUP

As a means of moving forward, all who are actively interested in making some of these visions a reality either on your campus or across the CSCU system are invited to a strategy session Friday, November 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at CCSU in Room 1849 of the Student Center (2nd floor). Lunch will be provided.

Initially, we will explore some of the processes, policies, programs, and general culture changes we want to see in our places of work and study, so we feel supported in all parts of our lives when we come to campus. We will also aim to answer the following questions:

  •  What does it mean to have a family-friendly campus?
  •  What does it mean to have a family-friendly CSCU system?

Please RSVP to pearsonaf@ccsu.edu if you will be able to join us.  Also, if you know of others who might be interested in these issues, please share this invitation with them.

We look forward to continuing these conversations with you!

May Day Legislative Phone-In Sessions @ CSU-AAUP Chapters
May 1 all-day

On May 1, local CSU-AAUP chapters will be holding on-campus, phone-a-legislator events. Please plan on taking part in this action.

All you need is your cell phone and your voice to urge legislators to support public higher education and specific bills that are still waiting for a vote, including paid family leave, minimum wage, and a bill that would require legislative approval for the BOR to close or merge any college or university campus in the CSCU system. If you aren’t sure of what to say in these phone calls, no worries! Our organizing team will provide a phone script that you may use as a guide for any phone calls you make to lawmakers during this phone-in event.

Stay tuned for more details on times and locations coming soon from your chapter president.

In the meantime, please mark May 1 in your calendar!

Other speakers include CCSU’s Stephen Adair.
