Please join CSU-AAUP Nov. 13, 2019, for a fascinating presentation of faculty research and a perfect example highlighting the importance of sabbatic leave to our members’ work. CCSU’s Dr. Katherine Hermes will present her work “Recovering Hartford’s Hidden Past: People of Color in Hartford’s Ancient Burying Ground, 1640-1815.” This is part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary research project involving a team of faculty, students, librarians, artists, and computer scientists. Together they discovered the identity and life stories of hundreds of African and Native Americans who may have been buried in the Ancient Burying ground and who, until now, had been forgotten.
